Honey how you like your eggs? Cracking album(en)

marseille figs - the dirty canonRave advance reviews for the new album from the utterly remarkable Marseille Figs. The Dirty Canon sounds like a bigger, bolder and much more brashly produced version of their demo CD stuff, which I really loved.

Saw them only once live - at Shoreditch’s Cargo - as I don’t hardly ever get out these days (and as half their gigs are in Berlin anyway I have an excuse), and was really amazed by the atmosphere they created. They had the venue manager raving to his staff how much he was looking forward to them during the other acts on the bill, and he sported a pretty huge smile for Funiculi Funicula.

Released on 19 November, and more details on their site. Can’t wait! I’ll need to get my MP3 player fixed by next Monday tho, as I can’t see Jnr making space on our stereo from his new In The Night Garden CD.

UPDATE 22/1/8: Well, after being a cheapskate and waiting ages for the free delivery, I have it, and it’s every bit as good as the samples, particularly “Good year” and “Don’t fall asleep at the wheel”. Unreservedly recommended!

All of this obviously being my own thoughts and nothing you can pin on my employers present or past, my union, my local party, my mates, or anyone else you might confuse me with - most of whom don't agree with me about very much anyway.
