“My parents, obviously, and my agent…”

I do love an award – mainly because I haven’t received (read ‘deserved’) one since I was about 12. So I’m deeply honoured to have been declared (along with the other Tigmoonauts) an honorary Netxplorateur (second class).

This is quite exciting (as well as sounding pretty darn cool – I imagine Gainsbourg would have a song about Netxplorateurs were he still around), as it’s part of a similarly named French conference on the business and social impact of new web technologies (Forum Netxplorateur). So I even get a swanky gig in gay Paree out of it.

Of course this is France, where despite the combined union membership being around three people and a small dog, unions have such a firm place in civil society that even events like this have a tripartite aspect (pauses to wipe wistful tear). So (without obviously wanting to belittle any staggering achievements), I think it might be a little easier to sneak into the list in the union xplorateurs section than the commercial one. Oh well, still very honoured indeed, and shall deffo enjoy liveblogging the event if my schoolboy French stands up to it!*

* German is my language, honest – I’m not really *all* that tardy on embracing our Europals. Except German is a little easier in these matters – much less grief to talk about how you use das Maus to access das Internet via das Computer, than to work out your ordinateur from your elbow.

Pls to share (thanks!):
