I made a movie!
…starring our photocopier, as it can act a whole lot better than me. Thanks to Moby for allowing me to use the splendid track “18″ on this, and to Lianne for clicking repeatedly.
BTW: As Mark Twain would likely have tweeted – had I more time, I would have uploaded a shorter video. If you do, have a go at the TUC 60 second video contest on YouTube, which I’ve missed by a mere 150%.

First time I’ve come across your blog. Love the film!
I’ve made some amateurish efforts on film with young members in UNISON which are on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeqYSqawEeU
and at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92sgMXddnj4
The latter one I’m especially proud of as it’s forced some BNP fascist goon to post a reply video which really exposes their islamophobia – makes me feel like we’ve touched a nerve!
I admire the simplicity of your film and its message – it’s good to see creativity is alive and well in the union movement!

Cheers Gary – yes, saw your films after you left a comment at strongerunions.org – thought the BNP one was a really good idea and made really clear – no wonder it annoyed them

Very clever. Can you do a version with the ‘CUPE’ logo somewhere? We’d pay big.

Very cool and getting a great (and widespread) response here. Made The Toronto Star (largest circulation paper in Canada) blog.

Hi John,
Love the film. I’ve put a link into it from our local amicus union website.
I’m writting to ask if I can actually use the film on the website directly (that
would look so much cooler). Please let me know if this is OK.
Best wishes,
Cathy Salkield

Great stuff John – really clever. I would love to play this video at induction meetings. However HR will probably say …
When is “Cogs 2″.
